TarotHands Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-10-21

Effective date: 2026-10-21

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of Arka Labs (the "Company") and users, the conditions and procedures of use, and other basic matters concerning the use of "TarotHands" (the "Service"), a work tool app for tarot readers provided by the Company.

Article 2 (Definitions)

The terms used in these Terms have the following meanings.

  • "User" means anyone who uses the Service under these Terms, including anyone who uses it without signing in.
  • "Member" means a User who has signed in to the Service with an Arka Labs account and agreed to these Terms.
  • "Arka Labs account" means a single member account shared across several services operated by the Company, such as Saju Todak and Dosabang.
  • "Client" means the person a User gives a reading or consultation to using the Service.
  • "Spread" means a template that defines the number, placement and order of card positions and the names of those positions. Spreads include "built-in spreads" provided by the Service and "My spreads" created by the User.
  • "Reading" means a single session in which a User shuffles and draws cards on the Service's table and places them in a spread.
  • "On-device data" means data stored only on the User's device, such as reading history, question notes, card notes and reading notes, text entered by voice dictation, and result images.

Article 3 (Posting and Amendment of the Terms)

  • The Company posts these Terms in the Service (Settings › About) and on the terms agreement screen shown at sign-in so that Users can easily view them.
  • The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws, such as the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions (약관의 규제에 관한 법률) and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (정보통신망 이용촉진 및 정보보호 등에 관한 법률).
  • When the Company amends the Terms, it will announce the effective date and the reasons for the amendment in the Service starting 7 days before the effective date. However, if the changes are unfavorable to Users or material, the Company will announce them starting 30 days before the effective date and, where possible, will also notify Members separately by email.
  • If, in the announcement or notice under the preceding paragraph, the Company clearly states that a Member will be deemed to have agreed unless the Member expresses refusal by the effective date, and the Member does not express refusal, the Member is deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.
  • A User who does not agree to the amended Terms may stop using the Service, and a Member may terminate the service agreement (delete their account).
  • Matters not covered by these Terms, and the interpretation of these Terms, are governed by applicable laws and general commercial practice.

Article 4 (Nature and Content of the Service)

The Service is a work tool that helps tarot readers give readings without physical cards.

The Service does not interpret cards. The Service does not generate or provide card interpretations tailored to a User's question, fortunes, prophecies or predictions. Short reference words (keywords) may appear on card screens, but the interpretation of a reading and the content of a consultation are decided entirely by the User.

The main features of the Service, and what changes when you sign in, are as follows.

FeatureWithout signing inAdded when signed in

Built-in spreads; reordering and hiding spreads in the spread listAvailableSpread list settings synced with other devices

Reading historyAvailable (saved on device only)None (not sent to the server)
Creating result images and text, sharing, saving to the photo libraryAvailableNone
Appearance (color theme, table cloth, card back), sound effect and vibration settingsAvailable (saved on device)None
  • Card shuffling and upright/reversed orientation are determined by random numbers generated on the device, and the Company does not adjust results so that particular cards appear.
  • The Service does not broker consultations or process payments of consultation fees. Appointments, fees and other arrangements between a User and a Client are agreed directly between the User and the Client.
  • The Service may be used by readers working on any consultation platform. Using the Service is separate from registering as a reader on the Company's other services (such as Dosabang).
  • The Service is currently free. The Company may set the scope of the features offered for free (for example, the number of My spreads that can be synced to the server) and will explain it on the Service's screens.

Article 5 (Arka Labs Account and Starting to Use the Service)

  • The core features of the Service can be used without signing in. Signing in is optional and is needed only if you want to use My spreads and similar items across multiple devices.
  • Sign-in uses an Arka Labs account. Currently, the Service offers sign-in by entering a verification code sent to your email. If no Arka Labs account exists for that email address, a new one is created during this process.
  • Even if you already have an Arka Labs account that you use for Saju Todak, Dosabang or other services, your agreement to these Terms and to the collection and use of personal information is obtained separately when you first sign in to the Service. You become a Member once you complete this agreement; if you close the screen before completing it, you will not be signed in.
  • Arka Labs accounts registered through social login (Kakao, Naver, Google) currently cannot be used to sign in to the Service.
  • Persons under 14 years of age cannot become Members.
  • Members must manage their own email accounts and signed-in devices, and must not hand over or lend verification codes or signed-in devices to others. Any damage arising from a Member's careless management is borne by the Member, unless it was caused by the Company's intent or negligence.
  • If a User signs in by improper means, such as using another person's email without authorization, the Company may refuse the sign-in or restrict use afterward.

Article 6 (Data Stored on Devices and Backups)

  • On-device data is stored only on the User's device and is not sent to the Company's servers. The Company cannot see on-device data and does not keep it separately.
  • Therefore, on-device data may be lost if you delete the app, lose or reset your device, or switch to a new device, and the Company cannot recover it. Please keep important data yourself, for example by saving result images or copying text.
  • Your device's backup feature (such as Google or Apple account backup) may also store on-device data in your backup space, but this is a matter between you and the operating system provider; the Company does not receive or guarantee such backups.
  • When a Member is signed in, the only things stored on the server are the display name, My spreads and spread list settings (order and hidden spreads), which can be downloaded again on other devices signed in with the same account. If the same item is edited on more than one device, the most recent edit is kept.
  • Even if you sign out or delete your account, on-device data and My spreads saved on the device remain on that device. To remove them, delete your history in the app or delete the app.
  • If the Company provides a feature that keeps history on its servers in the future (such as backup), the feature will work only when a Member turns it on, and the Company will give notice in advance through these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Article 7 (User Obligations)

Users must not do any of the following.

  • Use another person's email address or Arka Labs account without authorization
  • Use the Service or its servers abnormally (using automated tools, sending abnormal repeated requests, circumventing security measures, tampering with the Service, etc.)
  • Extract the Service's artwork and design elements (table cloths, card backs, etc.) separately from result images in order to copy, distribute or sell them
  • Use the Service to infringe the rights of others or to violate the law

The Service has no fields specifically for entering Client information. If a User writes a Client's name, contact details or consultation content in question notes, reading notes or elsewhere, the User must obtain any consent needed to receive and use that information and is responsible for how it is handled.

When sending result images or text to others, the User must check that the recipient is correct and that nothing is included that should not be sent. Sharing takes place through the device's share feature and the app the User chooses (such as a messenger), and what happens after content is sent through that app is governed by that app's terms and policies.

Article 8 (Ownership and Use of Rights)

  • Rights to My spreads, question notes, card notes and reading notes, display names and other content created by Users ("User Content") belong to the User. The Company uses a Member's My spreads, display name and spread list settings only to the extent necessary to store them and sync them between the Member's devices, and does not disclose them or use them for any other purpose without the User's consent.
  • The card art is based on an early printing of the Waite-Smith tarot, drawn by Pamela Colman Smith and first published in 1909, and is in the public domain because its copyright term has expired. Its source can be found under "Card art credits" in the Service.
  • Except for the card art above, rights to the Service's software, screen design, icons, table cloth and card back artwork, sound effects, built-in spread descriptions, card keyword text and the like belong to the Company or to their rightful owners. Open source software included in the Service is subject to its respective licenses, which are listed under "Open source licenses" in the Service.
  • Users may freely use and share the result images and text they create with the Service in their own activities, such as consultations (including paid consultations) and promotion. In doing so, the Company's design elements contained in a result image may also be used as part of that result image.

Article 9 (Changes to and Suspension of the Service)

  • The Company may change the content of the Service for operational or technical reasons, and will give advance notice in the Service of changes that are important to Users.
  • The Company may temporarily suspend features that require the server, such as sign-in and sync, in the event of server maintenance or replacement, communication failures, outages at external providers (email delivery, network security, etc.), natural disasters or similar causes. Even then, features that work without signing in remain available on the device.
  • If the Company ends the Service, it will announce this in the Service at least 30 days in advance, and information that Members stored on the server will be destroyed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Article 10 (Paid Services)

  • The Service is currently free, and the Company does not charge Users any fees.
  • If the Company offers paid services in the future, such as subscriptions or paid table cloth and card designs, it will give advance notice of their content, prices, payment methods, and conditions for withdrawal and refunds, and will set them out in separate terms or in an amendment to these Terms. No charges for paid services will arise unless the User makes a purchase themselves.

Article 11 (Limitation of Liability)

  • Responsibility for the interpretation of readings, the content and results of consultations, and the relationship between the User and the Client (including consultation fees) lies with the User, and the Company is not involved in these matters.
  • The Company is not liable for damage arising from causes beyond its control, such as natural disasters, network failures, the malfunction, loss or reset of the User's device, or problems with the operating system or other apps (such as messengers).
  • Because the Company does not keep on-device data, it is not liable for the loss of on-device data caused by deleting the app, losing the device or similar events. However, this does not apply where data is lost due to the Company's intent or negligence, such as a defect in the Service.
  • The Company is not liable in connection with the use of services provided free of charge, unless applicable laws specifically provide otherwise. However, this does not apply to damage caused by the Company's intent or gross negligence.
  • No provision of these Terms unfairly excludes or limits the Company's liability for its intent or gross negligence, or any liability the Company bears under applicable laws.

Article 12 (Restrictions on Use)

  • If a User violates Article 7 or interferes with the normal operation of the Service, the Company may restrict the use of server features such as sign-in and sync, or terminate the service agreement.
  • Before restricting use, the Company will notify the Member of the reasons by email or other means and give the Member an opportunity to explain. In urgent cases, however, the Company may restrict use first and notify the Member without delay; if it is confirmed that the Member committed no violation or that the Company's action was unjustified, use will be restored.
  • If an Arka Labs account is restricted on another of the Company's services, it may also be unable to sign in to the Service.

Article 13 (Account Deletion)

  • Members may delete their account at any time from the Service's settings screen.
  • Deletion applies to the entire Arka Labs account. Once you delete it, the account is also removed from the Company's other services you used with it, such as Saju Todak and Dosabang, and this cannot be undone.
  • If you have a consultation in progress, a payment or refund being processed, or unused paid credits on another of the Company's services, you can delete your account once those are settled. For accounts that cannot be deleted directly in the Service, such as accounts with a password set, deletion can be requested by contact email.
  • Upon deletion, the display name, My spreads and spread list settings on the server are deleted immediately, and other personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy. On-device data remains on the device.
  • If you want to delete only the information stored by the Service (display name, My spreads, etc.) while keeping your Arka Labs account, you can request this by contact email.

Article 14 (Protection of Personal Information)

The Company protects Users' personal information in accordance with applicable laws. Specific matters concerning the collection, use, outsourcing, overseas transfer, retention and destruction of personal information are governed by the TarotHands Privacy Policy, which the Company posts separately.

Article 15 (Governing Law, Jurisdiction and Dispute Resolution)

  • These Terms, and disputes between the Company and Users, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  • To aid understanding, the Company may also provide translations of these Terms into other languages. If a translation differs from the Korean original, the Korean original prevails.
  • The Company receives Users' opinions and complaints by contact email and handles them promptly; if they cannot be handled right away, the Company will inform the User of the reason and the expected schedule.
  • Disputes between the Company and Users are, in principle, to be resolved through good-faith consultation. If a dispute cannot be resolved by consultation, the User may apply for mediation to a relevant body such as the Korea Consumer Agency or the Electronic Commerce Mediation Committee.
  • Lawsuits fall under the jurisdiction of the court determined by applicable laws such as the Civil Procedure Act (민사소송법), and the Company does not use these Terms to impose an exclusive jurisdiction agreement unfavorable to Users.
